The story illustrates a society that has a technology that allows everyone to share their thoughts at all times in the form of a journal. A society that's free of secrets. I settled with Acrylic to serve as my transparent pages. I also had a narrative device I wanted to visually accentuate; the left margin of the page has thoughts that our protagonist is choosing to keep secret from society(but not the reader). After using my laser cutter to shape and engrave the pages, I used a transfer technique to tint the text on the left with Magenta Copic Marker ink (a medium often used by futurists and industrialists alike to render vehicles and environments). For the binding, I used a strip of electrical wire that had an almost off-white leather trim feel. The way the structure of the wire reveals itself through the acrylic works in tandem with my narrative and theme of transparency.
