Semiotics of ADHD:
A modern Attention Deficit Manifesto

There is a lot of misinformation and stigma surrounding ADHD; this leads people to either erroneously self diagnose or chose to believe they are not candidates for treatment. The Manifesto retells the experience of an adult dealing with ADHD in the modern-day. Inspired by Martha Rosler’s The Semiotics of the Kitchen, I decided on the alphabetical format to highlight two words that are associated with ADHD experience. An illustration accompanies each word; the signified informs the context the signifier should be read; in this case, the voluntary naivety from which we typically judge this condition. The feelings, coping mechanisms, and items all exist in different contexts; therefore, this Manifesto intends to unify them under a single concept.
